Morning Glory

Becky Fuller is a television producer who, after being let go from her job, takes over the struggling morning show Daybreak. Hoping to turn its fortunes around, she brings in Mike Pomeroy, a veteran news journalist whose serious approach clashes with the lighter fare the program depends on. His on-air partner, Colleen Peck, has little patience for his attitude, and the friction between the two hosts complicates Becky's efforts to keep the show alive. At the same time, a romance develops between Becky and a colleague, Adam Bennett, adding another demand on her attention.

Morning Glory was released in 2010 and directed by Roger Michell, whose earlier work includes Persuasion, Notting Hill and Changing Lanes. The screenplay is by Aline Brosh McKenna, and the film is produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk. Rachel McAdams plays Becky, with Harrison Ford as Mike Pomeroy and Diane Keaton as Colleen Peck. Patrick Wilson, Jeff Goldblum and John Pankow appear in supporting roles.
