Short description
A young and devoted morning television producer is hired as an executive producer on a long-running morning show at a once-prominent but currently failing station in New York City. Eager to keep the show on air, she recruits a former news journalist and anchor who disapproves of co-hosting a show that does not deal with real news stories.
What's left behind the scenes
- Many of the news reports in the film were taken from broadcasts during the Iowa floods in the summer of 2008. One report mentions Cedar Rapids, where 400 blocks were flooded.
- For the Russian theatrical release, several key roles were dubbed by presenters from the morning program on the "Russia-1" television channel – Irina Muromtseva, Andrey Petrov, Vladislav Zavyalov, and Anastasia Chernobrovina. Their voices could only be heard in cinemas; when the film was released on DVD and Blu-Ray, viewers heard the voices of other actors.
- The fictional news studio IBS was filmed in a real studio located at 1114 Avenue of the Americas, New York.
