Spirits' Homecoming

During the Second World War, two Korean teenagers are kidnapped by the Japanese Imperial Army and taken to a comfort station in China. They are forced into sexual slavery along with many other girls. Only one of the two friends survives the war. Many years later, the survivor, now an elderly woman, seeks a way to reconnect with the spirit of her lost friend. The story is inspired by the testimony of Kang Il-chul.

Directed and written by Cho Jung-lae, this historical drama was produced by WAW Pictures and JO Entertainment. The cast features Kang Ha-na as Jung-min, Seo Mi-ji and Son Sook as Young-hee, Choi Ri as Eun-kyung, Yi Seung-hyeon as Tanaka, and Im Seong-cheol as Ryusuke.

The film has received generally positive responses from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.7/10 based on 618 votes, while on TMDB it has a higher rating of 7.1/10 from 28 votes.
