Set It Up

Set It Up follows two personal assistants in New York City who are exhausted and underpaid. Harper and Charlie work for demanding, work-obsessed bosses who make their lives difficult, so the two devise a scheme to pair their employers up with each other. The hope is that romance will soften the bosses and give the assistants some breathing room. The plan appears to work, but it brings complications neither of them anticipated.

Claire Scanlon directed the film, her first feature, from a screenplay by Katie Silberman. Scanlon went on to direct The People We Hate at the Wedding and The Love Hypothesis, while this remains her debut. Zoey Deutch plays Harper Moore and Glen Powell plays Charlie Young, with Lucy Liu as Kirsten Stevens and Taye Diggs as Richard Otis. The credited cast numbers 51, with 81 credited crew members, and the film runs 105 minutes.

Released in June 2018, the romantic comedy earned a 6.9 out of 10 from 62 critics, matching the 6.9 audience score on TMDB from a modest 2,850 votes. On IMDb, where it has drawn a much larger 75,000 votes, the rating sits at 6.5. The film was produced by Treehouse Pictures in the United States.
