Blood from the Mummy's Tomb

Two Egyptologists, Professor Julian Fuchs and Corbeck, return from an expedition with the mummified body of an ancient Egyptian queen, Tera, along with a ring taken from her tomb. Fuchs keeps the ring for years and gives it to his daughter Margaret on her birthday, unaware of the pull it exerts over her. Margaret begins to suffer strange dreams and to resemble the dead queen, while people around her die one after another. The force behind these events is working to restore Tera to life through Margaret.

The film is a Hammer production, made with EMI Films and American International Pictures. Christopher Wicking wrote the screenplay, and the story draws on Bram Stoker's "Jewel of the Seven Stars." Valerie Leon plays Margaret and Queen Tera, with Andrew Keir as Fuchs, James Villiers as Corbeck and George Coulouris as Professor Berrigan. Direction is credited to both Seth Holt and Michael Carreras. Holt had previously directed Taste of Fear in 1961; Carreras's earlier films include Maniac in 1963 and The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb in 1964, and he went on to direct Shatter in 1974. Running just over an hour and a half, the film holds a rating of 5.6 on IMDb from around 4,400 votes and 5.5 on TMDB from about 118 votes.
