Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich

Edgar Easton, recently divorced and moving back into his childhood home, finds a pristine Blade doll among his late brother's belongings. He takes it to a convention in Oregon marking the 30th anniversary of the notorious Toulon murders, hoping an auction will solve his money problems. His girlfriend Ashley and his friend Markowitz come along. Once the auction begins, a sinister force brings every puppet at the convention to life, and the gathering turns into a slaughter.

The film is a horror comedy directed by Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund, following their earlier Madness and preceding Cora and The Red Book Ritual: Gates of Hell in both filmmakers' careers. S. Craig Zahler wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Thomas Lennon as Edgar, Jenny Pellicer, Nelson Franklin, Michael Paré, Barbara Crampton and Udo Kier as Andre Toulon, among 34 credited performers. It was produced by Mark Vahradian and Dallas Sonnier.

Released in August 2018 and running 90 minutes, the film received a critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 47 reviews, slightly above its audience scores: 5.4 on IMDb from roughly 4,900 votes and 5.6 on TMDB from a much smaller pool of 171. The pattern suggests critics found more to appreciate than general viewers did, while both groups landed in mixed territory.
