Ananda, a young Buddhist monk, travels to a temple to restore paintings that illustrate a moral tale about avoiding worldly passions and the distractions of the senses. His spiritual discipline is challenged when he finds a hairpin and attempts to return it to a young woman. The encounter awakens repressed desires within him, leading to a period of internal conflict. After the paintings are destroyed, Ananda begins to recognize his own attachment to earthly cravings while working to restore the artwork a second time.
The drama was directed and written by Prasanna Jayakody, marking the first of two films he directed before Chandarege Wife. The cast features Thumindu Dodantenna as the monk, Sachini Ayendra as the woman who lost the hairpin, Nilua Heenkendaarachchi as the monk's secular alter ego, and K.A. Milton Perera as an older monk. Produced by Somaratne Dissanayake and Renuka Balasooriya, the film has a runtime of 85 minutes. Since its release in January 2007, it has maintained a positive reception from viewers, holding a rating of 7.8/10 on IMDb based on 145 votes.
