Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle tells the story of a boy raised by a wolf pack in the Indian jungle. Under the care of the bear Baloo and the panther Bagheera, Mowgli learns the harsh rules of the wild and is accepted by most of the animals as one of their own. The notable exception is the tiger Shere Khan, who regards the human child as prey. As Mowgli grows, he finds that the jungle holds dangers beyond any single predator, and that he must eventually confront the fact that he is a man rather than an animal.

The film is directed by Andy Serkis, his second feature after Breathe, and was written by Callie Kloves. It combines live action with computer-generated animal characters, with Rohan Chand playing Mowgli and a voice cast that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Naomie Harris and Serkis himself. It is a co-production between the United Kingdom and the United States and joins a long line of adaptations of Rudyard Kipling's stories.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.5 out of 10 from around 69,000 votes, and on TMDB it also sits at 6.5 out of 10, from roughly 2,600 votes. A critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 110 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores. Its reported budget of 175 million dollars makes it an expensive production relative to that measured reception.
