Kadalai

Kadalai is a comedy about a young man whose carefree approach to life changes when a self-serving businessman sets out to take over land belonging to his village. As the threat to the community grows, he comes to see farming and the land around him as something worth defending.

The 2016 Indian film was written and directed by P Sagaya Suresh, whose screenplay work and direction place it among his feature credits. Udhayam Entertainment produced it, and it runs 138 minutes. It blends comedy with romance, setting the village land dispute against the lighter and more personal threads of its story.

The film exists in the director's body of work as one entry among his features, following the films he made before it. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.4, and on TMDB a rating of 5.0. It was released on 28 October 2016.
