In Madrid in August 2007, Curro takes part in a jewellery store robbery and goes to prison. Eight years later he is released, hoping to rebuild his life with his girlfriend Ana and their son. What he finds instead is a situation he did not expect, and a stranger named José, whose path becomes tangled with his as old ghosts surface and a quiet pursuit of revenge takes shape. The story moves between José's gentle courtship of Ana, a café worker unaware that his interest is not simply romantic, and Curro's attempt to return to a life that has moved on without him.
