Step Up 3D

Step Up 3D follows a group of street dancers in New York City who come together around Luke, who leads a crew called the House of Pirates. Facing eviction from the warehouse that serves as their home and rehearsal space, Luke searches the city's underground dance scene for new talent. He finds it in Moose, a New York University student torn between his studies, his girlfriend Camille and his love of dancing, and in Natalie, a skilled but guarded dancer. Together the crew sets its sights on an international competition where the best dance groups in the world face off.

The film is the third entry in the Step Up series and the second feature directed by Jon M. Chu, following Step Up 2: The Streets and preceding The LXD: The Secrets of the Ra. Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer wrote the screenplay, and the large credited cast of 115 includes Sharni Vinson, Rick Malambri, Adam Sevani, Alyson Stoner, Joe Slaughter and Kendra Andrews. Shot on a budget of about 30 million dollars, it went on to take roughly 159 million dollars worldwide.

Audience scores sit in moderate territory, with a 6.2 out of 10 on IMDb from around 62,000 votes and a 6.8 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of roughly 2,000. A critics' rating of 5.1 out of 10 from 122 reviews places professional response below the audience scores.
