Short description

John Landsburg is a veteran rancher and former sheriff in a small Texas town. His life is upended when an old rival, Tap Peterson, now a wealthy man, claims that John does not actually own his family's land. The dispute forces John into a confrontation with federal bureaucracy over the ranch he holds dear.

The film is a Western drama directed by Charles Robert Carner, released in 2016 and running 85 minutes. It is the fourth feature in the chronological list of Carner's directing credits, following Vanishing Point, Red Water and Judas. Harley Peyton and Jon Young wrote the screenplay. Jon Voight leads as John, with James Caan as Tap, Teri Polo as Rebecca, Melanie Griffith as Laura Lee, Steven Bauer as Hector and Abby Brammell as Regan. It was produced by Crystal Sky Pictures in the United States.

On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 795 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 6 out of 10 from 30 votes. The two audience scores sit close to the middle of the scale, with the larger IMDb sample placing it at a modest level of approval.
