Tom Harvey is an ordinary sixteen-year-old until a violent encounter with a local gang leaves him in a coma with fragments of his smartphone lodged in his brain. The doctors cannot remove them, and when Tom wakes he finds the shards have given him unusual abilities tied to electronic devices and data. He decides to use them to strike back at the people who attacked him and his friend Lucy, though his actions draw attention from a crime boss.
Adam Randall directed the film, the first in his directing career, from a screenplay by Joe Barton, Mark Denton and Jonny Stockwood. Bill Milner plays Tom, with Maisie Williams as Lucy Walker, Rory Kinnear as Ellman and Miranda Richardson as Tom's grandmother Nancy. The British production was made for about two million dollars.
Released in January 2017, the film runs ninety minutes. It holds a rating of 6 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 1,200 votes, a modest but not discouraging response for a low-budget genre title. Thirty cast members and forty-two crew are credited.
