StreetDance 3D

StreetDance 3D follows a British street dance crew that has qualified for a national championship but loses its leader, Jay, just as the competition approaches. Carly, his partner, takes over and has to convince the others she can lead them. With nowhere to rehearse, the crew accepts an offer from Helena, a teacher at a prestigious London ballet school: in exchange for studio space, the street dancers must include five of her classical students in their training. The two groups come from very different worlds, and working together tests both sides as they prepare a routine that blends street styles with ballet.

The film was released in 2010 and marked the directing debut of Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, who went on to make StreetDance 2 and Walking on Sunshine together. Jane English wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Nichola Burley as Carly, Richard Winsor as Tomas, Ukweli Roach as Jay, Frank Harper, George Sampson and Charlotte Rampling as Helena. Made for a modest budget, it earned far more than it cost at the worldwide box office.

It is a British production mixing drama, music and romance, and was also released in 3D. On IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from around 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.5 out of 10 from roughly 450 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 27 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
