Clarissa, a struggling actress, goes back to her hometown for a friend's wedding and tells her old friends that she is dating the famous actor Chas Hunter. The claim spreads to the press, and Chas plays along with a fake engagement for his own reasons, leaving Clarissa caught in a public charade that grows harder to keep up.
Letia Clouston directed this 2016 television comedy romance, written by Jake Helgren, who also produced alongside Elizabeth Snoderly and Ralph McCloud. Lexi Giovagnoli plays Clarissa, with Brant Daugherty as Chas Hunter. The cast also includes Lexi Atkins, Randy Wayne, Maureen McCormick, Joan Severance and others, and the production credits 51 crew members. The film runs 86 minutes.
Audience response has been mixed. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.8 from roughly 2,800 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.2 from about 120 votes. The larger IMDb sample suggests a modestly received television film rather than a widely praised one, and the much smaller TMDB count points to limited attention there. The film belongs to the early part of Clouston's directing career.
