Below the Surface

Cameron believes her life is in order, with a job she enjoys as a diving instructor and a man she plans to marry. That changes when her fiancé, Shane, a manager at the port of Miami, falls under suspicion of murder, and Cameron sets out to clear his name. What she learns along the way overturns what she thought she knew about him.

Below the Surface is a 2016 American thriller directed by Damián Romay, who also wrote the screenplay and produced it with Jacobo Rispa. It was the first of the twenty films Romay has directed, followed the same year by The Follower. Jenny Wade plays Cameron, with Jordi Vilasuso as Shane. The supporting cast includes Taylor Cole, Christina Bach, Antoni Corone and Vincent De Paul. The film runs 85 minutes.

Audience response has been modest. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 10 from 314 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.1 out of 10 from a much smaller sample of 15 votes. The two figures point to limited, mixed interest rather than a widely seen title.
