Down Terrace

Down Terrace is a British crime drama about Bill and Karl, a father and son who return home after serving time for a crime whose details stay vague. Rather than settling back into ordinary life, they become fixated on finding out who informed on them, and the search turns destructive as suspicions fall on the people around them. Meanwhile, the family's criminal operation is struggling, and the loose group of associates working out of the house has stopped trusting one another. The setting is an ordinary-looking home, but the relationships inside it are coming apart.

The film marked Ben Wheatley's arrival as a director, the first in a run of features that continued with Kill List, Sightseers, High-Rise, Free Fire, Rebecca and others. He wrote the screenplay with Robin Hill, who plays Karl, while Robert Hill plays Bill, Julia Deakin plays Maggie, and David Schaal, Kerry Peacock and Tony Way appear in supporting roles. Andrew Starke produced.

Down Terrace runs 93 minutes and was released in July 2010. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.4 from around 4,400 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 6.2 from a much smaller pool of 87 votes. A critics' rating of 6.8 from 37 reviews places it slightly above the audience scores.
