Mademoiselle Paradis

Set in 18th century Vienna, this historical drama follows Maria Theresia von Paradis, a talented pianist who has been blind since childhood. Seeking a cure for their daughter, her parents place her under the care of Dr. Franz Anton Mesmer. Through his experimental methods involving magnetism, Maria begins to regain her vision. However, as her sight returns, she discovers that this recovery comes at the cost of her musical virtuosity.

The film was directed by Barbara Albert and written by Kathrin Resetarits. It stars Maria Dragus in the title role, with Devid Striesow portraying Dr. Mesmer. The supporting cast includes Lukas Miko and Katja Kolm as Maria's parents, alongside Maresi Riegner and Johanna Orsini-Rosenberg. Produced by Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion and LOOKS, the movie is a joint production from Germany and Austria.
