Mayhem

Mayhem is an action horror comedy set inside a corporate law firm. A virus known as ID-7 spreads through the office building, stripping away the moral restraint of anyone infected and leaving them to act on their most violent and selfish urges. Among those trapped when the complex is placed under quarantine is Derek Cho, an attorney who has just been fired after a colleague turns on him. Now he has to fight his way through the infected floors toward the executives at the top of the building, joined by a disgruntled client with her own grievance against the firm.

Joe Lynch directed the film from a screenplay by Matias Caruso, with Lawrence Mattis, Matt Smith and Sean Sorensen producing. It came fourth in Lynch's directing career, between Everly and Point Blank. Steven Yeun plays Derek Cho, Samara Weaving plays Melanie Cross, and Steven Brand, Caroline Chikezie, Kerry Fox and Dallas Roberts round out the cast. The production was made for about 3 million dollars.

Released in November 2017, the film has drawn a modest but steady audience on IMDb, where it holds 6.2 out of 10 from roughly 67,000 votes, and on TMDB, where it sits at 6.4 out of 10 from over 800 ratings. A critics' score of 5.7 out of 10 from 105 reviews places it slightly below those audience figures, suggesting a mixed professional response alongside a somewhat warmer viewer one.
