Looking Glass is a mystery thriller about Ray and Maggie, a married couple who buy a motel in the Arizona desert hoping to start over after a tragedy. Their attempt at a quiet new life unravels when Ray finds a secret space behind a two-way mirror that lets him watch what happens inside one of the rooms. Rather than removing it, he keeps watching, and the disturbing activities he sees there pull him and Maggie into a murder investigation that makes the motel's owners suspects in the eyes of the police.
Tim Hunter directed the film, which he made between Kings of South Beach and Smiley Face Killers. It was written by Jerry Rapp and Matthew Wilder and produced by Braxton Pope and David M. Wulf. Nicolas Cage plays Ray and Robin Tunney plays Maggie, with supporting roles from Marc Blucas, Ernie Lively, Jacque Gray and Bill Bolender.
Looking Glass runs 103 minutes and was released in February 2018. Its reception was modest across the board: on IMDb it holds 4.7 out of 10 from more than 7,600 votes, and on TMDB 4.8 out of 10 from over 340 votes, while a critics' rating of 4.1 out of 10 from 24 reviews sits somewhat below those audience scores. The film was produced in Canada and the United States.
