Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy play Stanley MacLaurel and Oliver Hardy, who travel to Scotland hoping that Stanley will inherit the MacLaurel estate. The inheritance turns out to be a disappointment, and the two men end up in the British army, posted to India, where they become involved in the troubles facing the regiment there.
The film is a Laurel and Hardy comedy directed by James W. Horne and produced by Hal Roach for Hal Roach Studios, released in 1935. Horne had directed the pair before, in Our Wife, and would go on to direct them again in Way Out West. The screenplay is credited to Frank Butler, Jefferson Moffitt and Wilson Collison, and the cast includes William Janney, June Lang, James Finlayson and Anne Grey alongside the two leads.
On IMDb, Bonnie Harmony holds a rating of 6.7 from around 2,200 votes; on TMDB it also stands at 6.7, from a much smaller base of about 70 votes. Both audience scores point to a film regarded as a solid but not outstanding entry in the duo's output at Hal Roach.
