Flipped

Flipped follows two neighbours and classmates, Juli Baker and Bryce Loski, whose relationship begins when they meet in the second grade. Juli is immediately certain she has found the person she wants, while Bryce spends years doing what he can to keep his distance from her, a difficult task given that they attend the same school and live across the street from each other. Over time their positions shift: as Juli begins to question her feelings, Bryce starts to see her differently.

Rob Reiner directed the film, the thirteenth of the nineteen features he has directed to date. It followed The Bucket List in 2007 and preceded The Magic of Belle Isle in 2012. Reiner wrote the screenplay with Andrew Scheinman and produced alongside Alan Greisman. Madeline Carroll and Callan McAuliffe play the two young leads, with Rebecca De Mornay, Anthony Edwards, Penelope Ann Miller and John Mahoney among the supporting cast.

Released in August 2010, the film earned about 4 million dollars worldwide against a production budget of 14 million. Audiences rate it highly: on IMDb it holds 7.7 out of 10 from roughly 107,000 votes, and on TMDB 8 out of 10 from over 3,400 votes. That sits well above the critics' rating of 6 out of 10 from 76 reviews.
