Set in 1943, this war drama depicts the true story of a prisoner uprising at the Sobibor extermination camp in German-occupied Poland. The plot follows Alexander Pechersky, a lieutenant in the Red Army, who is captured and deported to the camp. Within weeks of his arrival, Pechersky organizes an international group of prisoners to stage a revolt. The conflict centers on their attempt to escape the facility, resulting in the only successful uprising of its kind during the war.
The film was directed by Konstantin Khabenskiy, marking the first of two films he has directed. Khabenskiy also stars as Alexander Pechersky, appearing alongside Christophe Lambert, Michalina Olszańska, Felice Jankell, Mariya Kozhevnikova, and Dainius Kazlauskas.
