Barry Munday is a man preoccupied with women and casual encounters, until an incident in a cinema leaves him waking up in a hospital to learn he has been surgically altered. His problems multiply when he receives a paternity claim from a woman he does not remember having slept with. Faced with the prospect of becoming a father, he sets out to handle the situation and the obstacles that follow.
The American comedy drama was directed by Chris D'Arienzo, who also wrote the screenplay, and was his feature directorial debut. Patrick Wilson plays the title role, with Judy Greer as the woman making the claim, Chloë Sevigny as her sister, Malcolm McDowell as their father, and Missi Pyle and Colin Hanks in supporting parts. The production involved 55 credited cast members and 57 credited crew members across four production companies, including Corner Store Entertainment and Prospect Pictures.
The film was released in March 2010 and runs 95 minutes. It drew modest audience scores of 5.8 out of 10 on IMDb from about 4,700 votes and 5.7 out of 10 on TMDB from a small number of votes. A critics' rating of 5.3 out of 10, based on fifteen reviews, sits below the audience figures, indicating that reviewers were slightly less favourable toward the film than viewers were.
