Mrs. Hyde is a French comedy-fantasy directed by Serge Bozon, who wrote the screenplay with Axelle Ropert. Isabelle Huppert plays Madame Géquil, a physics teacher at a suburban vocational school who is looked down on by her colleagues and students alike. After she is struck by lightning during a storm, she wakes to find a strange and dangerous new energy stirring within her, one that seems tied to a forceful second self. The film follows her struggle to keep that side of her in check.
Bozon's second feature as director after this film was Don Juan, released in 2022. The cast includes Romain Duris as the school principal, José Garcia as Monsieur Géquil, Adda Senani as Malik, Guillaume Verdier as the trainee and Patricia Barzyk as the neighbour, among twenty credited performers. It runs 95 minutes and was produced in France by ARTE France Cinéma, Frakas Productions and Les Films Pelléas, with David Thion, Jean-Yves Roubin and Cassandre Warnauts producing. The response has been mixed: on IMDb it holds 5.1 out of 10 from around 1,700 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 4.3 out of 10 from 122 votes. A critics' rating of 6.3 out of 10 from 31 reviews places it above both audience scores.
