Short description
Skyscraper centers on Will Sawyer, a former FBI hostage rescue team leader and war veteran who now assesses security for high-rise buildings. While working in Hong Kong, he is hired to evaluate the safety systems of The Pearl, a 240-storey tower billed as the tallest and most secure skyscraper in the world. The building is suddenly set ablaze, and Sawyer is blamed for starting the fire. Hunted by police and cut off from help, he has to find those actually responsible, clear his name, and reach his wife and children, who are trapped in the floors above the flames.
Rawson Marshall Thurber directed and wrote the film, which followed his earlier comedies DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, We're the Millers and Central Intelligence, and preceded Red Notice. Dwayne Johnson, who also produced, plays Will Sawyer; Neve Campbell plays his wife Sarah, with Chin Han, Roland Møller, Noah Taylor and Byron Mann in supporting roles.
Made for a reported 125 million USD, the film took about 305 million USD worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.8/10 from roughly 145,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.3/10 from around 5,400 votes. The critics' rating stands at 5.2/10 from 291 reviews, below both audience scores.

Smith previously worked on the creation of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai (828 meters, the tallest and most multi-story structure in the world), as well as the Jeddah Tower (under construction 32 km north of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, the world's first project exceeding 1 km in height).
