I Think We're Alone Now

Del is a reclusive man who survives a catastrophic event that wipes out most of humanity. He settles into a small, abandoned town where he has built a carefully ordered routine for himself, gathering supplies, burying the dead, and living contentedly in his solitude. His controlled existence is disrupted when he encounters Grace, a young woman who has also survived. While Del regards her as an intruder in the world he has made his own, Grace wants to stay, and her presence forces him to confront the life he has chosen.

The film is directed by Reed Morano, following her 2015 debut Meadowland and preceding The Rhythm Section in 2020, from a screenplay by Mike Makowsky. Peter Dinklage, who also produced, stars as Del, with Elle Fanning as Grace. Paul Giamatti and Charlotte Gainsbourg appear in supporting roles. The production involved 127 credited crew members.

Released in September 2018, the film runs 100 minutes and blends drama, mystery, and science fiction. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.7 from nearly 12,000 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 5.8 from 465 votes. A critics' rating stands at 6.2 from 41 reviews, somewhat above the audience scores. The modest vote counts and mixed ratings suggest a limited reach rather than a broadly embraced release.
