I Feel Pretty

Renee Bennett is a woman who has spent years feeling unhappy with how she looks and comparing herself with others. After a fall from a spin bike leaves her with a head injury, she wakes up convinced that she has become beautiful and capable. Her appearance has not actually changed, but her new certainty about herself transforms how she behaves, and she begins to pursue opportunities she would previously have avoided. This leads her into the world of a cosmetics company, where she draws the attention of its leader, Avery LeClair.

I Feel Pretty was released in 2018 and runs 110 minutes. It is a comedy with romantic elements, made by directors Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, who also wrote the screenplay. Amy Schumer plays Renee and is among the producers, alongside McG and Alissa Phillips. The cast includes Michelle Williams, Tom Hopper, Rory Scovel, Adrian Martinez and Emily Ratajkowski, with 47 credited performers in all.

The film was produced with a budget of 32 million dollars and took about 95 million dollars worldwide, a return well above its cost. Audience responses were mixed: it holds 5.7 out of 10 on IMDb from 60,000 votes and 6.4 out of 10 on TMDB from 2,151 votes. Critics were less positive, giving it 5.2 out of 10 across 230 reviews, so the film fared somewhat better with viewers than with reviewers.
