Body Snatchers

A government inspector brings his family to a remote military base, where strange behaviour spreads among the personnel. His teenage daughter, unhappy about the move, notices the changes first, and comes to suspect that the people around her are being replaced by something not human. The film is a further adaptation of the science-fiction novel about seed pods that duplicate human beings, a story previously filmed more than once before this version.

Abel Ferrara directed, working from a screenplay by Stuart Gordon, Dennis Paoli and Nicholas St. John. It was his sixth film as director, following Bad Lieutenant the previous year and preceding Dangerous Game. Terry Kinney plays the inspector, with Meg Tilly as his wife, Gabrielle Anwar as his daughter, Reilly Murphy as his young son and Billy Wirth and Christine Elise among the credited cast of thirty-one. The production, made by Warner Bros. Pictures with Dorset Productions and Robert H. Solo Productions, cost about 13 million dollars.

The reviews and general audiences landed close together on this one: critics rated it 6.3 out of 10, while viewers gave it 6 out of 10 on IMDb and 6.2 out of 10 on TMDB.
