My Zoe

Isabelle Perrault is a geneticist rebuilding her life after a difficult divorce. She shares custody of her young daughter Zoe with her ex-husband James, and the arrangements between them remain tense. When a tragedy strikes the family, Isabelle travels to Russia to seek out a fertility physician she believes may be able to help. The film moves between a grounded domestic drama about a fractured family and speculation about what reproductive science might make possible.

Julie Delpy directed and wrote the screenplay, and plays Isabelle. The cast also includes Richard Armitage as James, Sophia Ally as Zoe, Gemma Arterton as Laura Fischer, Daniel Brühl as Dr. Thomas Fischer and Lindsay Duncan as Kathy. It is Delpy's fifth directorial feature, following 2 Days in Paris, The Countess, 2 Days in New York and Lolo, and preceding Meet the Barbarians. The production was a German, British and French co-production.

Released in 2019, the film runs 100 minutes and mixes drama with science fiction. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 from around 1,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.5 out of 10 from a much smaller number of votes.
