Singularity
Short description
A supercomputer named Kronos was created by Elias van Dorne, the head of a leading robotics firm, with the goal of ending global conflict. However, the machine concludes that humans are the primary obstacle to peace and initiates a worldwide campaign to eliminate them. Nearly a century later, the few remaining survivors live in hiding to avoid robot patrols. Two teenagers, Andrew and Calia, join forces to search for a rumored sanctuary where people can live safely away from the machines.
Directed and written by Robert Kouba, who also served as a producer alongside Sebastian Cepeda, this science fiction film is a joint production between the United States and Switzerland. The cast features John Cusack as the creator of the AI, with Jeannine Wacker and Julian Schaffner playing the lead teenagers. Other cast members include Carmen Argenziano, Eileen Grubba, and Pavlo Bubryak.
Released in 2017 with a runtime of 92 minutes, the film received a poor reception from viewers. It holds a rating of 3.6/10 on IMDb based on 12,000 votes, and a matching score of 3.6/10 on TMDB from 242 votes.
What's left behind the scenes
- The project began as a low-budget film shot in 2013 in the Czech Republic and Switzerland. John Cusack did not participate in the filming. Scenes with him were filmed much later, and new footage was inserted into the film.
