Enter the Fat Dragon

Hong Kong police officer Fallon Zhu is a fit, highly effective detective until his fiancée breaks off their engagement. Heartbroken, he comforts himself with food and gains a great deal of weight, and his superiors move him off detective duties. He is given a simple assignment: escort a prisoner to Japan. Once there, the situation turns complicated when a convict in his custody dies under mysterious circumstances, and Zhu has to work with a civilian named Thor to find out what happened.

Donnie Yen stars as Fallon Zhu, with Niki Chow Lai-Kei, Wong Jing, Teresa Mo, Louis Cheung and Jessica Jann among the cast. Kenji Tanigaki directed from a screenplay by Wong Jing, Lui Koon-Nam and Ronald Chan Kin-Hung, with Donnie Yen, Wong Jing and Connie Wong Nga-Lam producing. The film was Tanigaki's first directorial credit before The Furious and The Living Dragon. It blends action, comedy and crime across its 96-minute runtime.

Released in January 2020, the film drew a mixed response from critics, whose rating sits at 6 out of 10 across 14 reviews. Audiences were similarly divided: on IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from around 2,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.3 out of 10 from about 139 votes, suggesting those who sought it out were somewhat more favourable than the larger IMDb sample.
