Divine Love

Set in Brazil in 2027, this science fiction drama depicts a society where religious practice is integrated into daily life through spiritual kiosks and rave parties. Joana, a civil servant who handles divorce cases, uses her professional position to encourage separating couples to reconsider their decisions. As a member of the Divino Amor religious group, she participates in unconventional methods to maintain marital bonds. While Joana is dedicated to her faith, she and her husband, Danilo, struggle with the frustration of being unable to conceive a child despite their efforts.

The film was directed by Gabriel Mascaro, following his previous works The Beetle KFZ-1348, Housemaids, and Neon Bull, and preceding The Blue Trail. The screenplay was written by Mascaro, Rachel Ellis, and Esdras Bezerra. The main cast features Dira Paes as Joana and Júlio Machado as Danilo, with supporting roles played by Emílio de Mello, Teca Pereira, Mariana Nunes, and Thalita Carauta.

Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 6.1/10 on IMDb from 2,400 votes and 5.9/10 on TMDB from 85 votes. Film critics gave the movie a higher rating of 7.4/10 based on 27 reviews.
