• Emma Stone is only three days older than Analise Tipton. However, her character is almost 10 years older than Jessica, Tipton's character.
• The film was included in the list of the best films of 2011 according to the authoritative American magazine "TV Guide".
• The cocktail that Jacob makes several times throughout the film is, according to some historians, the first American cocktail. It contains mineral water, ice, whiskey, sugar, and a large piece of orange peel.
• Steve Carell filmed the comedy in between filming the humorous series "The Office" (2005-2013) that made him famous.
• The stylish bar "Plas" (Plus), packed with attractive single women readily agreeing to anything, is no more than a product of the director's imagination. Such a bar never existed outside of Warner Bros. Studio's Soundstage No. 19 in Burbank (as the bar plays a significant role in the film, closing an expensive bar during filming would have been impractical).
