Jean-René runs a small chocolate factory that is struggling to stay afloat, and his awkward manner makes it hard for him to turn things around. When he takes on Angélique, a young woman who is just as shy as he is, he intends for her to handle sales. What he does not realize is that she is a remarkably gifted chocolate maker whose sweets have earned her a quiet reputation around town. Their shared love of chocolate draws the two of them together, though their mutual timidity keeps getting in the way of admitting how they feel.
Jean-Pierre Améris directed and co-wrote the film with Philippe Blasband. It is the earliest title in the director's listed filmography, ahead of Marie's Story, Family for Rent, Illiterate, Danse ta vie and It Takes Two To Tango. Benoît Poelvoorde plays Jean-René and Isabelle Carré plays Angélique, with Lorella Cravotta, Lise Lamétrie, Swann Arlaud and Pierre Niney among the credited cast of 34.
The film runs 80 minutes and was released in December 2010 as a Belgian-French co-production involving StudioCanal, France 3 Cinéma, RTBF and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.9/10 from around 13,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.5/10 from 586 votes, indicating a modest but generally positive response from viewers.
