Abigail is a single mother of two who meets Ben, a man accustomed to being single. During their initial encounter, they jokingly create a list of ten activities to complete before an inevitable breakup. However, after spending the night together, Abigail becomes pregnant. This unexpected development leads the pair to set aside their cynicism and attempt to build a serious relationship and a family together, despite the conflicts and challenges that arise.

The film was written and directed by Galt Niederhoffer, following his previous work, The Romantics. It features Christina Ricci as Abigail and Hamish Linklater as Ben, with Mia Sinclair Jenness and Brady Jenness appearing as Abigail's children.
