Short description
Five best friends, all married, decide to share a loft apartment. In this loft they meet their mistresses and conquests. Everything seems perfect, until one morning the body of an unknown young woman is found in the loft. The group of friends begin to suspect each other and it soon becomes clear that they know far less about each other than they had initially thought.
What's left behind the scenes
- This is Matthias Schoenaerts' first role performed entirely in English.
- In the scene where Luke gives Sarah an injection, it is visible that a special syringe is used, in which the thick, noticeable needle retracts into the syringe.
- Matthias Schoenaerts played the role of Philip in the original Belgian film "The Loft" (2008) and reprised the role in the Hollywood remake.
- Tobey Maguire was considered for a role in this film, but ultimately declined.
- Rosamund Pike was offered a role in this film, but she declined.
- Antoinette Bömer and five other crew members were injured when a ten-foot scaffolding collapsed. Specifically, she broke her arm and jaw. Eric Van Looy, the director of the original 2008 film of the same name, shot several scenes afterward. However, she was back in the director's chair within a few weeks. Bömer later admitted that she saw no difference between her directing style and Looy's.
- Filming began on June 6, 2011, in New Orleans. The actors and crew also worked in Brussels.
- Initially, the role of Vincent Stephens was intended for Patrick Wilson, but he left the project, and the role went to Karl Urban.
- Eric Stonestreet is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where James Marsden's father teaches.
