Saving Leningrad

Set in September 1941, this war drama follows the story of Kostya and Nastya, a young couple attempting to escape the siege of Leningrad. They travel aboard a dilapidated barge tasked with evacuating civilians and soldiers from the city. During the voyage, the vessel is caught in a violent nocturnal storm and begins to sink. Rather than receiving help from rescuers, the stranded passengers are first encountered by enemy aircraft.

The film was directed and written by Aleksey Kozlov, who also served as a producer alongside Arkady Fateev. The production was a collaboration between Universal Pictures, Studio AVK, and All Media Company. The lead roles are played by Mariya Melnikova and Andrey Mironov-Udalov, with a credited cast of 24 actors including Gela Meskhi, Anastasiya Melnikova, Sergey Zharkov, and Natalya Tkachenko.

Financially, the movie earned 3 million USD at the worldwide box office. It received a moderate reception from viewers, holding a 5.5 rating on IMDb based on 1,500 votes and a 5.7 rating on TMDB from 110 votes.
