Total Dhamaal

Total Dhamaal is an Indian adventure comedy about a group of people who learn of a hidden fortune worth 50 crore rupees and set off to claim it. Among them are the swindlers Guddu and Johnny, a married couple on the brink of divorce, a fireman and his two brothers, and a police commissioner with his own plans for the money. The trail leads to a zoo in Janakpur, and the rivals spend much of the film trying to outmaneuver one another along the way.

The film is the third entry in the Dhamaal series, following Dhamaal in 2007 and Double Dhamaal in 2011, and it was directed by Indra Kumar, who also directed the two earlier installments and produced this one alongside Ajay Devgn and Markand Adhikari. Paritosh Painter wrote the screenplay. Devgn stars as Guddu, with Arshad Warsi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Javed Jaffrey, Sanjay Mishra and Anil Kapoor heading a credited cast of 21 and a crew of 52. Made for a budget of about 14 million dollars, it took in roughly 16 million dollars worldwide, a modest return rather than a large one.

Audience response was weak: on IMDb it holds 4.3 out of 10 from around 8,900 votes, and on TMDB 5.2 out of 10 from about 55 votes. The low scores and the small gap between budget and box office point to a comedy that found only limited favor. A further film in the series, Dhamaal 4, was directed by Indra Kumar in 2026.
