Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return

Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return is an animated family fantasy in which Dorothy Gale, voiced by Lea Michele, has barely settled back into life in Kansas when a rainbow carries her away to Oz once more. The land she finds is in trouble: her old companions, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, have gone missing, and much of Oz is under threat from a scheming Jester, voiced by Martin Short, who has taken possession of the Wicked Witch of the West's magic staff. While the residents of the Emerald City look to Dorothy for help, she sets out with new allies she meets along the way, among them an owl, a marshal, a china princess and a tugboat.

The film was directed by Will Finn and Dan St. Pierre, working from a screenplay by Adam Balsam and Randi Barnes, with Bernadette Peters, Dan Aykroyd, Kelsey Grammer and Jim Belushi among the voice cast; 45 cast members and 42 crew members are credited. It is the second feature Finn directed, after Home on the Range in 2004, and the second for St. Pierre, following Everyone's Hero in 2006.

Released in 2014 and running 88 minutes, the production had a budget of 70 million US dollars and took about 22 million US dollars worldwide, a fraction of its cost. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.3 out of 10 from 381 votes, while the film critics' rating stands at 3.7 out of 10 from 60 reviews, leaving the critics well below the audience.
