A Mermaid in Paris

A musician in Paris rescues a wounded mermaid from the Seine and cares for her in his home. While the mermaid possesses a song that typically causes men to fall in love and die, the man is resistant to this effect. As the two bond over their shared love of music, they develop mutual romantic feelings, though this connection puts the man's life at risk.

The film was directed by Mathias Malzieu, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Stéphane Landowski. This was Malzieu's second feature film, following Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart from 2014. The cast includes Nicolas Duvauchelle as Gaspard and Marilyn Lima as Lula, with supporting roles played by Rossy de Palma, Tchéky Karyo, Romane Bohringer, and Alexis Michalik. The production was a joint effort between companies from France, Belgium, the United States, and Macedonia, including Columbia Pictures and EuropaCorp.
