What's left behind the scenes
- On August 8, 2017, the film crew arrived at Palace Square (Saint Petersburg) to continue filming. The Americans were met by rows of cars, tanks, and artillery from the WWII era, anti-tank 'hedgehogs,' and military tents. The following day, August 9, a military equipment exhibition was scheduled to open in front of the Hermitage to commemorate the anniversary of the end of the Siege of Leningrad—August 9, 1944. The first batch of tanks and howitzers had been delivered to the Winter Palace on the night of the 8th. Due to the exhibition, the Winter Palace was not included in the film's shots. The director had to change the plan—the main filming took place on the other half of Palace Square, closer to the General Staff Building.
