A woman who targets wealthy men for her own gain mistakenly believes a hotel employee is a billionaire. Once she realizes his true financial status, she abandons him, but the man remains enamored and pursues her. To maintain a lifestyle that allows him to stay near her, he becomes a paid companion to a wealthy older woman. This new role brings him closer to the woman he loves, and as she offers him guidance in his new profession, she begins to develop genuine feelings for him.

The film was directed by Pierre Salvadori, following his 2003 work After You and preceding The Trouble with You, La Vénus électrique. The cast features Gad Elmaleh as Jean and Audrey Tautou as Irène, with supporting roles played by Marie-Christine Adam, Vernon Dobtcheff, Jacques Spiesser, and Annelise Hesme.
