Trespass

Kyle Miller deals in diamonds, and his wife Sarah is an architect who designed the glass-and-steel house where they live with their teenage daughter, Avery. The family has money, security and a comfortable life by the water, though Kyle and Sarah's marriage carries strains beneath the surface. One night, men in ski masks posing as security or police force their way inside. They want the contents of the safe, and Kyle stalls them rather than open it, turning the evening into a standoff in which the robbers' pasts and the couple's secrets both surface.

Joel Schumacher directed the film from a screenplay by Karl Gajdusek, with Irwin Winkler, David Winkler and René Besson producing. It was the twenty-first of the twenty-one features Schumacher directed in chronological order, following Twelve. Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman lead as Kyle and Sarah, with Ben Mendelsohn, Liana Liberato, Cam Gigandet and Jordana Spiro among the supporting cast.

Released in October 2011, the film runs 91 minutes. Made for a budget of 36 million dollars, it took in about 10 million worldwide, a fraction of its cost. On IMDb it holds 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 47,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.5 out of 10 from around 1,247 votes, while the critics' rating stands at 3.3 out of 10 across 76 reviews, well below the audience scores.
