Short description
Erica Miller, a congressional aide, travels to a U.S. Air Force base in the Pacific shortly before Christmas. Her assignment, given by Congresswoman Angie Bradford, is to gather evidence that would justify shutting the base down, since her boss sees its holiday air drops of toys, food and medicine to nearby islands as a waste of money. Captain Andrew Jantz, who shows her around the facility, is committed to the mission and its Christmas tradition, and as the two spend time together, Erica begins to question the purpose of her visit. A romance develops between them, even though the captain knows that her success would mean the base's closure.
Martin Wood directed the film, which was written by Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer and produced by Brad Krevoy and Steven R. McGlothen. It is a television romantic comedy running 95 minutes, and sits in the middle of Wood's recent run of television films, between Love Locks and Double Life. Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig lead the cast as Erica and Andrew, with Virginia Madsen as the congresswoman, Janet Kidder, Jeffrey Joseph and Bethany Brown in supporting roles among 22 credited cast members.
The film was released in November 2020. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.9 from around 14,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.4 from roughly 595 votes, a higher average from a much smaller group of users. A critics' rating of 5.8 from 16 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
