After We Fell continues the story of Tessa Young and Hardin Scott, whose relationship faces new pressures. Tessa is preparing to move to Seattle for a job she has wanted, while Hardin's jealousy and unpredictable behavior strain their bond. At the same time, the return of Tessa's father and revelations about both their families cast doubt on what they thought they knew about the people closest to them. With their future together uncertain, the two must decide whether to keep fighting for the relationship or go their separate ways. The film is based on the novel by Anna Todd and is the third installment in the After series.
Castille Landon directed the film, the first of several in her filmography, followed by Fear of Rain the same year and later entries in the franchise. Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin return as the leads, with Carter Jenkins, Louise Lombard, Chance Perdomo and Rob Estes in supporting roles. Sharon Soboil wrote the screenplay, and Jennifer Gibgot, Mark Canton and Courtney Solomon produced.
Made for a budget of 14 million dollars, the film took in about 22 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4.7 from more than 18,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7 from roughly 2,800 votes. A critics' score of 3.5 from 12 reviews places it below the audience ratings.
