Eight-year-old Nelly has just lost her grandmother, and she travels with her parents to clear out the house where her mother, Marion, grew up. While exploring the nearby woods, where her mother once played and built a fort, Nelly meets another girl her own age. The two become friends, and the girl is also named Marion.
Céline Sciamma wrote and directed the film, which followed Portrait of a Lady on Fire in her filmography and came before Tutti Frutti. Bénédicte Couvreur produced it, and the cast is led by Joséphine Sanz as Nelly and Gabrielle Sanz as Marion, with Nina Meurisse and Stéphane Varupenne as the parents. The film is a French and American co-production, running seventy-two minutes.
It received a critics' rating of 8.7/10 from 219 reviews, while audiences gave it 7.4/10 on IMDb from 21,000 votes and 7.1/10 on TMDB from 481 votes. The budget was 3 million USD, and the worldwide box office was 2 million USD, a modest return for a small-scale drama.
