Emerson Kent, a veteran black-ops agent for the CIA, has spent years on assignments that have worn down his standing within the agency. After an operation goes wrong and a psychological review raises doubts about him, he is pulled from field work and given a quiet post: guarding a code announcer at a remote signals station where encrypted messages are broadcast. Katherine, the young woman he is assigned to protect, works at the facility, and their routine is shattered when armed attackers descend on TMDB. Cut off and outnumbered, the two must work together to stay alive, and the fight becomes larger than either of their own fates.
The 2013 action thriller was directed by Kasper Barfoed, his second feature after The Candidate and before Summer of '92. F. Scott Frazier wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes John Cusack as Emerson opposite Malin Åkerman as Katherine, with Hannah Murray, Liam Cunningham, Lucy Griffiths and Bryan Dick. Produced across Belgium, the United Kingdom and the United States, the film had a budget of about 10 million dollars and took roughly 3 million dollars worldwide, a fraction of its cost.
Audience response has been modest, with a rating of 5.6 from around 21,000 votes on IMDb and 5.5 from roughly 600 votes on TMDB. A critics' rating of 4.9 from 26 reviews places professional assessment close to the audience scores.
