Ticket to Paradise

Georgia and David Cotton are divorced and barely tolerate each other. Word reaches them that their daughter Lily, recently graduated, has traveled to Bali and quickly fallen for a local man named Gede, whom she intends to marry. Fearing she is repeating the mistake they made twenty-five years earlier, her parents put their differences aside and fly to the island together to talk her out of the wedding.

Ol Parker directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Pipski. It is the fourth feature he directed, following Imagine Me & You, Now Is Good and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, and it precedes Office Romance. Julia Roberts and George Clooney play Georgia and David and also produced the film; Kaitlyn Dever plays Lily, with Billie Lourd as Wren Butler, Maxime Bouttier as Gede and Lucas Bravo as Paul. The cast runs to thirty-three credited performers.

Made for about 20 million dollars, the film took roughly 169 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its budget. On IMDb it holds 6.1 out of 10 from around 81,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.4 from about 1,400 votes, so viewers are mildly positive. A critics' rating of 5.6 from 227 reviews places it slightly below the audience scores.
