A police officer takes on an elaborate deception to shield his father, a politician who has come out of a coma. Because the older man's recovery depends on believing that the life he planned for his son has come true, the officer poses as the political figure his father envisioned while quietly pursuing those responsible for the attempt on his father's life. The setup places him between two roles at once: the son maintaining a fiction at home and the investigator closing in on the conspirators.

Sreenu Vaitla directed the film, his first in the chronological list of his credits before Mister and Viswam. Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat wrote the screenplay, and Ram Achanta, Anil Sunkara and Gopichand Achanta produced it for 14 Reels Entertainment. Mahesh Babu leads as ACP G. Ajay Kumar, with Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Prashanthi, Prakash Raj as Shankar Narayana, Sonu Sood as Nayak, Brahmanandam as Padmasri and M. S. Narayana as Bokka Venkata Rao. The production credits 43 cast members and 41 crew.

Released on 23 September 2011 and running 174 minutes, the film mixes action, comedy and thriller elements, and it took in about 12 million dollars worldwide. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 from 55 votes, a moderate audience score for a star-led Telugu release of its scale.
