Short description
Chevalier follows the life of Joseph Bologne, the illegitimate son of a French plantation owner and an African slave. Set in France, the story depicts his ascent within high society as he gains fame as a composer, violinist, and fencer. His success is complicated by a tragic romance and a conflict with Marie Antoinette and her court.
